From my collection: 6 of Pentacles
A look at a few versions of the card of the month from my tarot deck collection.
This is an image-heavy post. You may want to read it on your laptop.
The Lubanko Tarot’s 6 of Pentacles focuses more on the hands, which centers the act of giving and receiving rather than the actors.
Lettie Jane Rennekamp emphasizes the 6 of Pentacles power play aspect in the Many Queens Tarot.
Hexen 2.0 is a big bag of f*cknuts and I love it. I have no clue why Robert Oppenheimer is the 6 of Pentacles though.
This version is from the Flying Hearts Tarot, a collective deck published in Germany (1988). The gods are tossing Eve’s apple back and forth. Hmm. Maybe she’s in charge here.
The Rosebud Tarot takes a gentler approach to the card, focusing more on give and take as part of balanced cooperation.
The Hermetic Tarot uses Golden Dawn correspondences, hence, “Lord of Success” for the 6 of Pentacles in this deck…
… and of course in the Thoth.
you are putting kindling under the fire that is my eternal urge to collect more decks with this post 😂
i love all these interpretations! I wonder if for the hexen 6, the choice of Oppenheimer is a warning, like not all gifts turn out that great, his contribution to science was definitely a double… triple edged sword!
Thank you! I love this exercise so much—the study through different depictions. And it’s nice to 👀👀👀other decks! The only deck I share is Thoth, my first at 17.
