Thank you so much for the writing advice. That was super helpful. While I have managed to lighten pressure on other parts of my life, it seems to have remained in my writing process. The guilt is real! It might be the academic in me. I appreciate you reminding me that other aspects of day-to-day life can count as writing, like reading other people's works and reflecting on them, for example. I have been doing that a lot lately. I will invest in a tiny notebook and, believe it or not, I was considering getting a pair of overalls over the weekend. It's hilarious that you said that. One follow-up question: Do the musings in your notebook often transform into long-form work? or other writings? Just curious.
By the way, you did pronounce my name correctly. Thank you!
I am sorry to hear about the threats and verbal abuse you received on Threads. It is baffling to me that your question attracted such reactions. I hope those people are able to reflect on why they would project on a stranger's innocent question in such a way. Take care of yourself.
Glad this was helpful! Notebook musings: Yes, some the ideas do spark long-form writing, but not all. Some get folded into works in progress. For example, let's say I'm stuck at a point in an essay or something else I'm writing. Sometimes I'lll just sit and look through the notebook for a sentence, thought, etc, that fits the story. Let me know if this makes sense or not.
A bit late to this party but I really love this format! I hope you do more Tramblings! I loved the writing advice too. Jotting things down as you move through your day/week as part of the exercise of writing… I’d never thought of it like that but it makes so much sense. I think I’ve been doing it without realizing for ages with my notes app, but really only half way. I write down ideas, thoughts, and questions that come all the time, but… haven’t quite developed the habit of returning to them yet, ha! Which is probably why I always feel terrorized when I sit down to write anything with any type of consistency.
I have a question to offer for the next round: I wonder if after all the time you’ve spent with the Tarot, if there’s anything about the cards that ever trips you up? Or if you feel instead that you’ve gotten so comfortable with the language of the cards that everything is always very clear? Maybe this is a silly question considering you literally wrote a (!!wonderful!!) book on the Tarot. But since you collect so many decks I do wonder if different interpretations of cards / decks sometimes surprise you in a way that throws off your previous experience/interpretation of the cards or anything like that. For example, RWS vs Thoth are a quite different to me, so pulling cards with one deck or the other yield very different readings and sometimes I feel a card might make more sense to me in Thoth versus RWS. TL;DR I’m curious if you ever still find yourself stumped by the cards given the depth of your experience and knowledge.
I did not know that about the make up. But it makes sense as I so loved the green on your eyes and spent a lot of time admiring the artistry of the make up on your face. 😍 I also like the notebook idea. I have ideas and then I forget them.
Thank you for this wonderful "Trambling" (brilliant name)! I'm disheartened by the way folks reacted to your simple, direct, innocent question, but inspired by the way you've been processing it in a compassionate, non-reactive manner. Thank you for sharing that. My mind is blown by the idea of approaching fingernails with energetic intentionality. As one whose hands are their primary tools, I have always ignored my hands. I'm going to try some color empowerment spells with my nails, even if just once a week. I always notice other people's nails and enjoy witnessing gorgeous nails on others. As for overalls, I also wear them often and recommend them for everyone! Pockets are important and useful for so many reasons. I have been studying the history of "the pocket" in garments and could info dump on what I've found in this amazing rabbit hole, but will use restraint here. I love the visual delight of your overalls combined with luna moth green eyeshadow, and mini spiral notebook. Thank you for the reminder that simply "living" is a valid form of gathering information for our creative expressions. My next question for a future Trambling...I'd love to know more about the quilt you are making. Have you made other quilts? Is there a history of quilting in your family? Do you have a favorite quilt in memory, or one that you currently use?
So sorry you had to go through all that with the nasty comments. Your attitude towards it all is pretty amazing. So glad you’re keeping on and I always love what you have to say!

Also...get the overalls!:-)
This does make sense. Thank you so much for taking the time to elaborate. I am going to invest in the overalls for sure! Enjoy the rest of your day.

I absolutely LOVE pockets! I’m all ears! And thanks for the questions about quilting. I’ll share in my next Trambling!
Terrific! Here’s a link to a wonderful book about the history of pockets: https://shop.tatter.org/products/the-pocket-a-hidden-history-of-womens-lives?variant=44180461879617
